Fab Finds: All Things Rockabilly & Pinup

I came across some awesome finds this week that I just couldn't pass up, so I thought I'd share them with my readers!

Cats Like Us is one of my favorite retro and vintage reproduction clothing and accessories store. They are based out of Tonawanda, New York, but have a very large online store and offer reasonable shipping, so I use shop their store quite a bit. Their selection of vintage, rockabilly and pinup reproduction clothing and accessories is quite impressive! This week I picked up a few t-shirts and accessories that were just too cute!

While passing by Hot Topic the other day, I found an awesome shirt that I just couldn't pass up. I love black and white monochromatic color schemes, stripes and Johnny Depp...so when I came across this raglan punk shirt, I just had to have it!

Vintage treasures & accessories recommendations

I have come across some wonderful Etsy shops in the past few weeks and thought I'd share them with you, as you will love their vintage selections!

I came across the Wiggle Perfume & Sundries shop when a fellow blogger, Punk Rock Momma, posted an entry about the shop and their wonderful selection of handmade perfumed oils, and boy was she right! I purchased the Honeysuckle Sweet Tea perfume oil and the Valdosta perfume oil, both of which have southern roots and floral scents to them. No surprise that Wiggle Perfume & Sundries has now become one of my favorites!

While browsing the Etsy shops, (which I do more than I should!), I found a great new vintage boutique called Atlantis Vintage, which has some great vintage jewelry, clothing, and accessories to pick from. I couldn't stop myself from picking up a great pair of vintage black and white spectator pumps from their shop! Be sure to take a look at their selections, as I'm sure you will find something that you love.

I was also lucky to find La Poubelle Vintage, a great Etsy shop that carries some wonderful, vintage 40's clothing that is in great shape. They have a HUGE assortment of vintage clothing that is quite impressive. I grabbed a 40's style navy blue dress and a vintage floral swing dress from their shop and can't wait to break them in!

Last, but not least, I came across the Jitterbuggin shop that is, by far, one of most favorite new Etsy shops! Their selection of 30's and 40's styled tops, bottoms, and play suits is phenomenal. I absolutely fell in love with their 30's style denim wide leg suspender pants! Be sure to check them out, as you will certainly find something that you just can't live without!

Friday Favorites: Cucumber Seed Earrings & Cry-Baby!

I thought I would start a new tradition and share with my readers a few of my favorite things in life, from vintage to rockabilly to pinup, each Friday.

This week, I'm loving the handmade and absolutely unique red cucumber seed earrings that I purchased last year from the Southern Highland Craft Guild which is located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The guild shop features all sorts of regionally handmade crafts ranging from jewelry to pottery to bowls to stained glass to home decor, most of which can either be purchased in person or through their online store. The guild features art exhibitions and crafting classes and workshops to the public as well. I just love these earrings and wear them frequently and also have them in blue. They are made from the actual seeds of a cucumber (the large- and small-sized seeds) and are then painted. They are available in blue, fuschia, lavender, lime, natural, red and yellow. Each pair is priced at $10 and does not include shipping if you purchase them online. Check them out, as I'm sure you will love them!

Lastly, my favorite reminiscence for this Friday is the look, feel and overall vibe of the 1990 cult-classic and rockabilly film Cry-baby. I absolutely loved this movie when it came out and have seen it many, many times. With a young and up-and-coming Johnny Depp as Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, it quickly became one of my modern-day vintage-feel favorites! Set in the mid 50's, the movie centers around the life of two teenage gangs known as the Drapes and the Squares. Cry-Baby is a troubled delinquent who falls for a prim and proper girl by the name of Allison. Their escapades quickly drag them both into trouble, along with Cry-Baby's friends and family. Allison makes a change for the bad and quickly won me over with her bad-girl makeover, courtesy of Cry-Baby's sister, Pepper, and her friends Wanda and Hatchet Face. The costume design and musicals in this number were just completely wonderful and it is still a favorite of mine to watch for years to come!

So, have a fun-filled Friday and an awesome weekend. Do you have any Friday favorites that you can't live without? Be sure to share!

Fab finds!

Hi guys!

I wanted to share with you some of my recent Fab Finds that I purchased over the weekend. As most of you know, I am a huge vintage, pinup and punk enthusiast, and I found some wonderful items to add to my collection!

First, I received my much-anticipated hair accessories order from Belle Blossoms! I am super excited about using these hair clips in my vintage dos! I nabbed a cherries clip, some black and white polka dot bow clips and set of miniature red rose clips. I love these!

Next, I found an awesome pair of black patent leather heels by Naturalizer at a local shoe store by the name of Beaty's Shoes (in the Tri-Cities, TN area).

I also picked up an awesome souvenier shirt from the local Little City Rollergirls derby that I recently attended. I love this shirt and think it's very punk and edgy!

Last, but not least, I found this awesome Talon phone case in the Grunge Heart design at Amazon for my Motorola Droid 2!

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my fabulous finds!

XOXO, Crystal
