A couple of weeks ago, my family and I went to the 21st annual Volunteer State Auto Club downtown cruise-in in our hometown of Greeneville, TN. This is a classic and antique car show that is held on one Saturday each summer and this year certainly didn't disappoint us. There were close to a hundred cars to look at that were simply gorgeous! We had a great time at the show and even enjoyed some local barbeque while looking at all the lovely restored cars. I even had the luck of coming across a few vintage treasures that I brought home in a local thrift store, but I'll save those for another post. Enjoy!

Antiquing, Accessories & Birthdays, Oh My!
This weekend, I'll find myself thoroughly entertained by a large assortment of fun-filled activities, as it's my birthday on Saturday! While I'm not thrilled with the idea of turning the big 3-0 (something I've been dreading for quite some time), I am looking forward to all the fun to be had this weekend!
My family and I will be heading to North Carolina on Saturday for Downtown Hendersonville's 20th annual Main Street Side Walk Antique Show, which features over 100 antique vendors! While we're there, we plan on having lunch at Mike's on Main Street, a 50's styled diner that features some of the best cheeseburgers and milk shakes in the area. After all our antiquing, we are planning on stopping by the Mast General Store for a bit of shopping. Last, but not least, we'll make a stop in Asheville on our way back through for me to do a little vintage shopping at the Honeypot and the Vintage Moon!
In all, I anticipate this to be a wonderful birthday with loads of fun! I even have my gorgeous, vintage clutch which I recently acquired from Junkyard Garden, to take along on my travels!
Stay tuned to see what all sorts of vintage goodies and antiques I find!

My Fun-Filled Plans for the Weekend!
I'll be taking an extra long weekend and having Friday off, in order to fit in all the loads of fun we'll be having this weekend!
Friday starts my kiddo's first official day of Summer break! It's also mine and my husband's 11th wedding anniversary. So, to celebrate in style, our crew will be going to see the infamous and dashing Mr. Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opening night!

Saturday will be another jam-packed day of fun as we head up to the Dillard Place in the Cherokee National Forest in our hometown to take part in the TWRA's annual Kid's Fishing Day, where kids get to fish for monster-sized trout in the area's stocked ponds.
Gage and friends with his first catch of the day at last year's Kid's Fishing Day
Last, but not least, Sunday will be another fun day for us as we head to our town's annual Iris Festival, which features all sorts of crafts, food, games, and fun.

It's sure to be a busy but super-fun weekend for our group! Do you have any fun adventures planned for the weekend?XOXO,
Crystal

My weekend fun: Antiquing, Rollerderby & Biltmore, Oh My!
We had a pretty busy weekend this past Saturday and Sunday, but it was so much fun! The Mr and myself went and did a little antiquing Saturday afternoon in a few great spots in the Jonesborough area, then ate dinner at Chili's, followed by a fun-filled night watching our local Little City Roller Girls take on a double-header between the Star City Roller Girls and the Music City Brawl Stars, of which the LCRG won the first match but fell on the second. No worries, though, as I'm sure they will make a comeback in their next bout! Sunday was even busier when the Mr, myself and the kiddo went to see Biltmore in all its spring-time splendor., something we do each and every year, including seeing the estate in the Summer, Fall and at Christmas time as well. Last, but not least, we rounded out the evening with a fun bike ride in the neighborhood!
Here are a few items that I picked up and/or admired while shopping in the Jonesborough Antique Mart.
I plan on framing them soon.
The reverse side of the Jean Harlow covers. I just love looking at these old Post advertisements!
A Springmaid Fabrics ad that I picked up for $3.00, which I plan to frame.
A Betty Grable "Lux Girl" ad that I picked up for $3.00, which I plan to frame.
A Rita Hayworth "Lustre-Creme" shampoo ad that I picked up for $3.00, which I plan to frame. One of my favorites!

A vintage pair of strap-on roller skates that I was admiring.
A vintage 1954 black silk slip with lace scalloping, (which was only $5.95!) that is in perfect condition!
